WBC Kids Church
Kids Church is designed for ages 1 to grade 8 and focusses on God’s plan for our lives and encouraging children to be life-long followers of Jesus. During the school term, Kids Church runs during both services and is where the children have the opportunity to play, create, sing and learn in ways that are appropriate to their developmental stage. We use small groups to help build relationships as we move through a series of rotational activities.
This week:
If you can’t join us for Kids Church this week, you can watch the story online so you don’t miss out!
What to expect
When you arrive for the 8:30am or 10:30am service, head over to the “WBC Kids” Corner in the foyer (it is very bright and hard to miss) and one of our friendly volunteers will help you register your kids and let you know what small group they will be in. At the Kids Corner, please advise our team of any allergies or medical conditions that we need to be aware of so that we can keep your kids safe and engaged during their time at Kids Church. After you have registered at the Kids Corner, you can move into the main service as a family to worship together until the kids are sent out to their program.
8:30am Service
Primary-age children will meet their group leader at their group’s coloured flag in the foyer (at approximately 8:45am) and then move to the Hall for their worship and bible teaching input before heading off to their small group for some time discussing, applying, playing and connecting. Primary-aged children can be picked up after the service from the Hall (near the terrace where morning tea is served).
Our Junior Kids Church Program is full of fun, sensory activities for our youngest kids (aged approximately 18 months old to Prep) and operates in the purpose-built area that is accessed off the foyer. Children younger than 18 months of age are welcome to attend but may require a parent or guardian to stay with them. Pick up is at the Junior Kids area after the service.
Teenagers in grades 7 and 8 are invited to attend ‘Launch’, an age-specific program during the 8:30am service (starting at approximately 8:45am). 'Launch' is held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month during school terms in the Chapel area near the entrance to the church building. It is aimed at equipping new youth age kids to dig deep in their relationship and knowledge of God. If you are having trouble finding the right place, our friendly hosts would love to help you.
10:30am Service
Both primary-age and junior kids (18 months to 12 years) meet in the front area of the Junior Kids Room during our 10:30am service (kids to exit the service just before the message).
Discovery Groups are held during the 10:30am service on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month during school terms. This is open to all high schoolers, and is a great time to dig deep into God's word together and support each other in our faith walk. Our great desire is that you would know Jesus personally and be better equipped to take Him to the world. It is split into a few different groups (younger boys, younger girls, older boys, older girls) and finishes at 12:30pm. The youth kids will be in the service for worship and then head out when the sermon starts. Those who attend the 8:30am service are welcome to bring their youth kids down at 11:00am or they can sit with their friends and leaders during the 10:30am service.
If your young child would prefer to stay with you during the service, there are two Parents’ Rooms that you are welcome to access if you need. One is located on the right-hand side of the auditorium as you are entering and has one-way glass to provide privacy for feeding and changing, and the other is towards the back on the right-hand side and has toys and a little more space for playing on the floor. There are additional baby change facilities in the Junior Kids are and the disabled toilet. If you need assistance finding any of these areas (or with anything else while you're with us) our friendly hosts would love to help you.
We look forward to having you and your family as part of our Sunday program.
Faith Pathway
Faith Pathway is a simple booklet with ideas to help you as you guide your child in their journey towards a life of faith in Jesus. We would love to see your child and your family establish patterns of behaviour that will help their faith grow strong and be able to withstand challenges that will come their way.
