Membership

Why Membership?

All Christians across the globe are a member of what can be called the universal church. However, from the birth of the church we can see that believers gathered in local congregations to worship and serve their community.

Local church membership is a promise made between an individual and the church. The member promises to commit themselves to serving, growing in, and contributing to that body. In turn, the church promises to encourage and support that believer in their journey.

Membership benefits individuals. It helps all of us to move from only having good intentions to participating fully. Your decision to become a member shows your desire to belong and contribute to our family at Wynnum Baptist Church.

Before considering membership, we ask everyone who becomes a member to be:

  • Attending a Sunday service regularly

  • Giving to the ministry of the church

  • Involved in an area of serving (if possible, recognising that this may depend on both individual and family circumstances as well as the current season of life)

  • attending members meeting when possible
